todder going through an 'only want daddy' phase

Hi,

My 14 month old is currently rejecting me in favour of his dad. It's been more noticeable this week as we've both been off together. I know it's great that they have a good relationship and that it's probably just a phase and that my son still loves me... but it hurts. Anyone else in/or been through this situation?

Yuck. Yes I had a shocker of a time of it will h exactly this at 15 months or thereabouts. It was awful and really upset me, causing me to blame emcs and mixed feeding rather than exclusive breastfeeding for him not loving me! What a load of rubbish! It lasted about six months then he gradually improved to the point where I was his top fave. Now he's five and relatively even in his affections, although when the brown stuff hits the fan, he wants me. Hang in there, it'll be ok X

They come back!

My DS1 has been like this from a similar age and is still a Daddy's boy aged 8! He now knows not to show overt favouritism but he waits for him like a puppy for when he gets home from work (couldn't care less about when I get back from work haha) and is just all over him in general if it's been a while of not seeing him. DH is great about encouraging us to do things together that he can't do and making a big deal of it (like cycling) and always used to do family hugs or saying "well I love your Mummy" and running over to give me hugs and kisses if DS1 was rejecting me. He is a fantastic father though, he takes over from the second he gets in after removing his suit jacket (although I am secretly very pleased that DS2 is a Mummy's boy ;) )

I had this for a few months up until recently and DD is almost 16months. This last week or so we have noticed she is much more neautral again now and is much much more affectionate to me rather than my DH! I wouldn't worry, it's just a phase.

Same with my little girl - she is very loving and affectionate towards me (16 months old) but as soon as Daddy is around she isn't interested. Starts crying if I so much as try to give her a cuddle before bedtime and take her off Daddy. I wouldn't take it to heart!
