Educational TV programmes for 5 year old

Does anyone have any recommendations for educational programmes for 5 year old girl. Not keen on her watching iPad/using apps but happy to buy DVDs or download stuff. Anything nature/science/maths/phonics etc related. Would like her to start looking at programmes other than CBeebies as she could spend all day watching TV!

What's wrong with CBeebies? There's loads of good educational programmes on there! We only watch on iPlayer & I download most of what the DC watch. Do You Know? has been a recent favourite. Other than selectively watching CBeebies programmes, my 5 & 3yos like watching documentaries aimed at adults. We pre-watch anything aimed at adults to check it's suitable. We're pretty relaxed about them seeing things like animals mating though, I know some people wouldn't want their kids to watch that. They watched one today about woolly mammoths that led to some interesting discussions & both of them prancing round trying to demonstrate the differences between mammoths & elephants. Wish I'd videoed it, twas hilarious!

I would consider Octonauts, Go Jetters, and Nina and the Neurons (for example) as educational as well as fun. Adult nature documentaries might have moments that are a bit gory for a 5yo, but you could pre-watch some David Attenborough ones?

There's an app from BBC called story of life which is Attenborough clips. Our 5yo is a fan. Also messy goes to okido, and others mentioned above. The website thekidshouldseethis is brilliant for all kinds of well curated snippets of science and nature stuff.

CBeebies is educational but don't have it in all day. Half an hour quiet time is plenty. As other said, Nina, octonauts, numberjacks, something special etc
