Distraction, distraction, distraction at this age

I'll second that distraction and avoid the situation happening in the first place - where possible.

When distration failed, I would ask dd if she wanted to go to her bedroom on her own cos she would if she didn't stop whatever it was she was doing. Just asking almost always worked and I think I only ever put here there once. Depends in part on how much you think ds understands.

AArrhh the magic art of distraction it shall be from now on. I know he understands everything I say Goosey....makes it all the more frustrating when things go amiss.

Swopping things can help too. It works well with the dogs - if they have something you want or they shouldn't have, you can exchange it for something even better!
