My 17mth DS is turning into a nightmare at bath/bedtime

DH does bathtime and for a while I've been getting worried that it's all been getting a bit out of control considering it should be a wind down time. So I asked DH to try and calm it a bit which he has. Unfortunately DS is getting wilder and wilder when it comes to milk and story time. He used to sit nice and quietly but now is trying to run round the bedroom shrieking. I would take over bathtime to see if a change would help but I'm 2 days overdue with DS2 aqnd really can't bend! I suppose its probably a reaction to me being so hormonal - he's not being as good for me as usual in the day - and him realising things aren't quite the same as normal. Any ideas? I'm worried it's going to get worse when the new baby arrives.

we stopped doing a bath before bed as dd started getting wound up instead of down. she gets her jammies on and has stickers and stories without a bath now and her sleeping behaviour improved quickly. dh does her stories when he is home on time and she gets a bath during the day wherever we can fit it in - she only has a bath a couple of times a week now rather than every night as it was before.
