House move with a toddler

We are moving house soon and my two year old knows about this. She is really anxious about it and keeps getting upset. DH and I are excited about the move and have been really positive. We've explained what will happen and reassured her but she's so worried. She worries that her toys won't be there or that mummy / daddy / DS won't be there when she moves. We've tried reassurance but she's still upset.

What can we do?

I have moved a lot and over the years, I've found the less said the better.

It's of no use at all trying to tell toddlers how nice their new house is going to be. They just can't fathom it.

Don't mention it again for now...then the day of moving, make sure there's a lovely "New House Present" in their new room all wrapped up for them to find.

Be matter of fact about things and don't talk about things too much.

I got a couple of books for My DS, he was 2 when We moved. I think Topsy and Tim do a house move one.
