And by that I mean a LEGAL entitlement. My best pal is a very knowledgable SENCO there and she's just confirmed this! The ASL Act of 2004 and its update in 2009 set this out for schools so we know where we stand and that the kids who need it most receive the necessary support.

MSLehrerin · 12/03/2017 20:59

It's not a legal entitlement tho. My pal knows her shit, believe me.

IonaMumsnet · 12/03/2017 21:02

Evening folks. Just a reminder that we all have different issues to face as parents and we're all here for 'the-same-but-different' reasons, one way or another. So a bit of peace, love and understanding is always welcome. Thank you.

I agree with Leggit- lots not adding up and OP not impressed that some of us aren't bowled over by her child's prowess. I'd be more concerned about the bad behaviour and lack of social skills than the child not being challenged tbh.

MSLehrerin · 12/03/2017 21:04

Who has given the able/gifted label to the child at four? Apart from the Mum?

saisanne1 · 12/03/2017 21:04

That's not true, you's are all getting abit crazy now, there is no reason at all I would lie about anything

OP posts:
saisanne1 · 12/03/2017 21:05

Child phycologist assessed my child and said that

OP posts:
Leggit · 12/03/2017 21:15

you's are all getting a bit crazy now

Hmm
saisanne1 · 12/03/2017 21:17

Well tell me what's not right? I've just proved you get additional support here for gifted! Go say I'm lying again, look it up. Do what you want Hmm

MSLehrerin · 12/03/2017 21:18

Leggit exactement 😕

Leggit · 12/03/2017 21:26

I never said you were lying about that?

I pointed out, without insulting you personally, that there are a few things that don't add up. I made it very clear what I was saying and I didn't resort to insulting you.

If you can't see that then there is not much point in anyone who carries an opinion being on this thread. What you need are a few sheeple, to pop along and rub your over inflated idea about your 4 year old.

MSLehrerin · 12/03/2017 21:32

I think she might mean me Leggit 🙄**
In 30 years in secondary education, in huge schools too, I've never come across a child who has received additional support for being gifted and talented/able or whatever.....I've been in some very good or excellent schools too....

saisanne1 · 12/03/2017 21:32

Every time I've said something someone else has said it too, what is it all to you

OP posts:
MSLehrerin · 12/03/2017 21:33

Oops bold fail. I'm obviously not gifted/talented/able in my keyboarding skills.....😉

saisanne1 · 12/03/2017 21:33

Yeah that's maybe because Scotland only offer it

OP posts:
MSLehrerin · 12/03/2017 21:35

That's where I'm talking about

saisanne1 · 12/03/2017 21:36

Mainly in primary schools as far as I know

OP posts:
saisanne1 · 12/03/2017 21:37

But also I had never heard of it either, until I was told about it after the assessment and my son was offered it

OP posts:
saisanne1 · 12/03/2017 21:37

Look it up it's all over the Internet

Crumbs1 · 12/03/2017 21:38

Hah just remembered the older ones could recite the alphabet at 3 years but always said zee not z - it was because Sesame Street came on at 6am. The early walkers watched open university maths on he needs of our bed until Sesame Street came on but weren't allowed to talk. They always sang the alphabet with big bird.

saisanne1 · 12/03/2017 21:51

As I said before generally these kids struggle in areas
