Ds is 19.5 months. He understands everything, confident he hears well, follows instructions. He has a small roster of words incl
Mum, dad, cheese, ham, oh no, uh oh, airplane, car. That's it. He's had these words all for 2-3 months now and doesn't seem to have got to grips with anything new. Is this normal? Is he behind? Can I help at all? I read to him, he has a chatty older sisters. He's at home with me at the moment and doesn't attend nursery but soon will.

Please don't worry about him. My ds1 didn't have any words at all till 22 months and now he's a strapping 6 year old, once understanding is there I really wouldn't worry

Similar thread Here.
It's worth having a look at the TalkingPoint website mentioned.

It's good that he seems to understand everything. If you want to help I found the confident talkers website useful. It has lots of activities you can do with your DC to help them come on with their talking. confidenttalkers.blogspot.co.uk/
