Getting frustrated with 6 year old faffing about!

Any tips on how not to get so frustrated when you have a hugely distracted and slow DD ?
I've tried the "do only one thing at a time". I've tried allowing more time for things. I've tried talking really calmly. But after the 5th "could you put you coat on please?" Calmly I revert to "GET OUT THE DOOR NOW!!!!"
I have the kindest little girl but she gets crazily distracted and takes forever to do anything. Thing is it makes us constantly rush. I would just let her be who she is but we can't keep being late.
Any tips that worked for you?

We've resorted to bribery

We expect them to get ready by a set time, with their school bag, coat and shoes ready in the hall, and if they do, they get to watch tv for s bit.

Never thought it would work but it seems to

Our kids dont get any morning cartoon or a peice of fruit (they go to breakfast club) unless they are dressed in everything bar their coats.

Please let me know when you figure it out! My almost 7 year old drives me insane, it can take her well over half an hour to eat a bowl of cereal!

My 6yo DD is exactly the same. I even started to think it was ADHD or something, but she is very focused and driven in the classroom, so it's just her being flighty at home! It drives me bonkers. I think sometimes she just wants to be babied a bit, and helped with things. I probably expect her to do too much for herself sometimes without realising.

Ds is the same! Especially over brushing his teeth...He also can't be anywhere near any type of screen when I ask him to do anything-they are like magnets for his eyes and seem to wipe his brain as well He is a lovely kind happy child, doing really well in school, so no other worries but his 'distractibility' and faffing drive me crazy sometimes!

My dd is exactly the same.
don't know what to do myself.

Tips? Wait a few years?

I must admit this approach does get results. The "you do this by this time and you get tv or can do some Lego".
I think the hardest thing is they don't get time concepts. If you say "you have ten minutes" it means nothing to them. You may as well have just spoken in Japanese!

My ds is like this, it drives me insane. If we eat out we can all be finished and then have to wait another 40 minutes for him to finish eating. Trying to get out of the house to school/work in the mornings is a nightmare.
