Hi - A Dad here who needs a little help. Our little lad is coming up to 14th months and within the last 2-3 weeks, has started to smack both Mum and I in the face in anger and frustration at not being able to do want he wants to do. A couple of tellings off with plenty of eye contact with a firm "do not do that, that hurts Mummy or Daddy" seem to have worked in as much that he doesn't do it to me (possibly because Mum is around more than me during the week. However, Mum is still getting a whack and he's showing no signs of letting up. Any recommendations?

Have you tried the naughty spot?? I know he is a little young but in extreme cases i did try that with my little boy from around 1 year and he eventually got the idea.

Its not so much the time but its the exclusion from what you are doing that made the difference at our house.
