My five year old is naughty

My five year old ds has got in trouble more than I'd like at school. He does a lot of small things. On two occasions I've had a letter home / email. Once for repeated small naughtiness like messing about, fighting with other boys/not doing as told. Today though I got an email to say he and a group of his friends had cornered an older girl in the playground and were trying to pull her trousers down. I am v upset by this and sad that he would hurt someone like that. I sent him to bed early and tried to talk with him about how he made her feel and how it was acting like a 'bad guy' to do that, and I said no pocket money at the weekend. Does anyone have any advice about how else to deal with this?

How does he behave at home?

He's mostly fine at home, a bit giddy and sometimes doesn't listen but mostly ok.

A bit giddy and sometimes doesn't listen is a problem at school though. Is he getting away with stuff at home that is getting him in trouble at school?

He might be, in that he doesn't have to sit still and be quiet at home. He would do something like mess with the Christmas decorations or climb on the back of the sofa and take a few times being told to stop. He play fights with his brothers sometimes but it never turns nasty so they actually hurt each other.
