Development delay, sickly baby

DD has suspected development delay which we awaiting an appointment with a specialist.
But I wondered if there's any known links with been a 'sickly baby' and any form of delay. DD never goes long without some form of bug. I also think I maybe guilty of going crazy and reading too much into things

I'm no expert but in my experience childcare setting has a lot to do with the number of bugs dc get. We have had every bloody bug known to man since ds started pre school a year ago. Friends had them all when their babies went to nursery. My nephew is very rarely ill but he goes to a childminder with very few other children.
