The right blanket?

It might seem a trivial thing but a chat with the Health Visitor has left me worried. I am due in about two weeks, I got some lovely blankets as presents for the baby. HV said I should only use cellular or crocheted blankets as that stops babies overheating and avoid SIDS. Obvs the mere mention of SIDS sends a hormonal mum into a know of worries. Shall I but cellular blankets and just not use the ones I've got? Or was that a bit OTT of the HV...
Thanks!!

I would probably get some cellular blankets to use while the baby is very little. You've enough to worry about without adding that to the mix. You'll be able to use your other blankets when s/he is older and out in the buggy etc.

Good luck with it all

Thanks. She said its worse when out in the winter as you go in and out of shops etc. and they get overheated in shops as they are dressed for being out.
But yeah you are right, why risk it.
