Confidence building activities for 5 year olds

Could I ask if anyone has felt that their little one lacked confidence and done something about it? I am trying to think of things that could help build confidence in my 5 yr old DD. She'v v clingy with one friend at school and it's becoming a bit of a problem. I want to help her to move on and make new friends and not be so worried about what this other little girl is doing. I think she need help with confidence to empower her to do this though.

A friend has suggested rainbows and playdates with other children. I'd be particularly interested to hear from other parents who have been through similar. Thanks

Rainbows is a good idea also a drama class like stagecoach, they are very focused on confidence, working in teams etc.

There's a nice book called "how to be a friend", it might be good to read that with her, and have a low key chat about how we should treat other people, and how we want to be treated.
Rainbows is an excellent idea, too. Or maybe a team sport, where she can become used to co-operative work with people.
