Tantrums in shops

Every time we go into a shop as a family my toddler wants to sit on the floor. When we tell her no with a consequence she laughs and lays down. We've tried al sorts over the last week
A shopping list to distract her.
Lots of praise when she's walking sensibly.
Consequence to sitting on the floor.

For context she's not tired when we are going or hungry. She loves shops and asks to go to shops a lot so I'm surprised she's still doing this.

What do you do if your toddler does this? X

My toddler tries this occasionally, so I put her in the trolley/buggy. If I'm queuing then I let her sit.

Walk nicely or get carried under my arm/sat in the trolley seat/buggy. I always have my toddler tula in my bag so in the case of a prolonged tantrum I put him up on my back in the that and he settles in minutes as he knows he can't escape!

I have a nearly two year old and wouldn't even think of taking him round busy shops without the pushchair! He would be inclined to do exactly the same as your toddler and I find the whole thing extremely stressful so I just restrain him in his buggy. He will spend the whole time moaning and trying to break free, needless to say I don't go to the shops very often! Delightful aren't they? Grin

What's a toddler Tula?

She's always been really good at going round shops and loves going out to do anything. These tantrums have started since my DS has been born so I'm wondering if it's an attention thing :(
Thank you for your ideas :)

I used to shrug and walk away. Dd soon stood up and ran after me.
