How the hell do you stop 3 yr old twins from shouting?

The last week they have been a nightmare for various reasons, but the worst is the constant shouting at me, I just cant bear it anymore, it makes my blood boil and I am in a constant stinker of a mood because of it.

Anyone, most things I can deal with but I just cant abide being shouted at..............by anyone.

What context do they shout in? If it is every time they address you, could you pretend you can't hear unless it is a normal voice?

Work in times of the day that they are allowed to shout. Mine are allowed to shout in the garden (we are lucky to be surrounded by fields and partially deaf retired people).

They shout when they want something, from the first time they ask, and they shout when I say no to something, or even if I say yes but to wait a minute. Have tried ignoring but they are both stubburn and wil just go on and on.

Great and now dt1 has just pulled the kitchen blinds down....arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Say you can only hear if they speak to you in a nice voice and ask nicely. Ignore, ignore, ignore if they continue to shout.

Went through this recently with ds3 and it is sloooowly beginning to work.

I will try, when they are not shouting they are whining, I am finding myself counting down the hours til thier bedtime from the minute they wake up.

It is so hard to be more stubborn than they are without losing it, isn't it? Mine don't often shout for things but DS is a whiner. Must be doubly trying with twins. But I can't think of any other solution.
Of course praise them when they do ask for something first time in a pleasant voice.

I remember when my brothers (who are twins) were 3, they were a nightmare. They climbed up one of my mum's display units and it wobbled and a huge china horse fell off and smashed, mum was furious as it was a wedding gift (dts were unhurt!). They do calm down after a while...
