Can anyone help me understand why....................

...........my 2yr 3 month dd gets out of bed in the middle of the night to sleep on her bedroom floor/the hallway/the sofa?!?!

on a one off i wasn't that worried about it just thought she was having a bad nights sleep, but shes done this 6 nights in a row now! i notice her when i get up to make a bottle for ds (14 weeks) and put her back to bed, sometimes she'll then stay in her bed till morning, sometimes she gets up again and goes to sleep somewhere odd!!

anyone had any experience? or know any sensible reason why she's doing this?

please help!

sleep in her bed for a night see if its uncomfortable.

persoanally i think sleep is hugely important. i wouldnt be bothered by this as long as the child was actually sleeping

Because she feels more comfortable in those places for some reason?
We often found our dd asleep outside our bedroom door complete with pillow and quilt that she'd dragged off her bed. This went on for quite a long time.

so it's not really anything to worry about as long as shes acctually sleeping?

My brother used to do this when he was little. He usually went to my parents door or to my Mom's chair in the living room. Maybe she associates that places she goes with comfort.

my nephew used to do this and sleep on the floor in his parents' room. My DS1 did it for a little while as well.

Don't know why but seems to be fairly common and quite harmless I would think!!

will just leave her to it and hope it stops!

This had reminded me of one little one we cared for who every night would pull all his covers off his bed drag his mattress off then lie on the bed base having pulled his duvet and pillow back onto the base. He was two

I have no idea why he did this and because the room was a tiny one it was sometimes a struggle to get into his room the next morning as the mattress would be in front of the door
