Help.....DD doesn't like me!!!

God I feel awful.....I have a dd who is 2.3 and she has always been a bit of a daddys girl to say the least. She has now taken to crying / whinging if I go in to get her up in the morning (because I'm not Daddy!). Everything is 'no mummy' and 'no like mummy' and it really upsets me. Our ds who is just 4 months old also gets lots of cuddles and kisses but dd won't kiss me goodnight or give me a cuddle and I feel like I must be a really crap mum to make her feel like she can't warm to me.....is this normal, please tell me it's a phase

You have a baby. You have to give your baby the time he needs

She used to be your baby.

Don't feel bad, try to include her in his day - ask her to fetch a nappy, to watch him while you nip to the kitchen etc.

It's hard.

But she does love you with all of her (little) might. Honest, I had the same gap between my 2.

It's just a phase. My dd went through a really nasty phase at about the same age of being horrible to her dad, loves him now though, don't worry about it too much. It is to do with power struggles and dividing and conquering.

thanks, tbh tho poor little ds hardly gets a look in at the moment because as you're probably aware dd being 2 and all means he's not getting the same attention as he should be.....feel better though that it's not just me LOL

Someone once described to me that having a baby while you have a toddler is like having a secret love affair, you have to snatch stolen moments with the baby. Its very true.

Buy her a new dolly and try to teach her about nappy changing and feeding etc with her dolly and the you have the baby.

I used to tut to my 2yr old and say 'oh no the baby is crying again, shall we feed her? Do you want to feed yours too?
Sounds corny but it worked. I made out it was me and her as a team looking after this baby and the dolly together.
Everything is temporary at this age I promise.
