I know they are a good sign but i'm only on leap 2 (8 weeks) and its driving me nuts! She's gone from being a predictable napper to hardly napping at all then getting super cranky because she's tired. Please tell me they do pass and they go back to the way they were

If "wonder weeks" and "leaps" are names given to supposed sections of an infant's development....take my advice and chuck the book or the app away and just take each day as it comes.

Trying to understand any baby via a supposedly helpful book in which the author labels stuff that's perfectly normal and different for every single baby out there will drive you mad.

On the flip side I found it really useful to have something to 'blame'. Yes it will pass but most babies are miniature evil dictators & will paitiently wait for you to figure out their new routines and then promptly change them Grin

I agree with spacefrog35, I found it really useful to have the app and it helped me to know the torture of sleep deprivation would end eventually! And this was for baby number 3!

I think i like having something to blame and cling onto the hope that it is a phase and she'll go back to the way she was. Smile

Love the miniture evil dictator image, she grins like crazy at me when she breaks her naps

Lol at evil dictators Grin Also yes. I am a degree educated, independent, travelled, modern woman and I'm being comprehensively outmanoeuvred by a tiny person who can't control their own bowel movements yet Confused

I too like having something to blame and also a rough idea of when it might get better!

Oh I loved the wonder weeks book! So fascinating to have an insight into what was going on inside DD's head, and to be reminded that her inner world wasn't that of a mini-adult. I found it really helpful.

And yes, it will pass! You will have your happy baby back again Smile

They change at such a rapid rate they never go back to the way they were! However my go ton reasoning is 'growth spurt' she's feeding loads: growth spurt, she's sleeping more:growth spurt, she's sleeping less: growth spurt, she's grumpy: growth spurt. Grin
