My 21 month old tries to physically get into books, he will lift his foot as if trying to enter the book and repeatedly say 'in' ???

I think that's lovely. His books are clearly firing his imagination! Keep those books coming!

Yes, my lo does similar, often hugging the book and trying to get things out of the book to hold/ play with. I just try to explain that it is a picture

I have a child who tries to climb into anything. He's not tried books though!
Perhaps they saw it somewhere, like on TV. Sometimes cartoon characters can 'get into' the TV or climb in or out of a book.
Certainly, nothing to worry about. Just shows they have a good imagination.
