twiglett. My ds says 'if your behaviour is bad I'll write it down and if it continues I'll take away your mumsnet' He has got the hang of a good threat then!

SoupDragon · 10/06/2004 09:22

LOL!

DS1s response to my suggestions that if he isn't good, he won't get something is to say if he doesn't get something he won't be good.

SoupDragon · 10/06/2004 09:23

WWW - that would certainly make me behave!

ROFL!

I get a yelled "FINE!" with his hand held up in front of him in a stop signal, then storms out of the room and sits himself on the bottom step!! I don't put him on a naughty step often, honest ... never need to ... he puts himself there!

Me too PMSL - what a little dear

I just get - We'll make a deal - and then she goes and says whatever she wants to do and then she will do what I want her to do as keeping her part of the deal - sorry I was not aware that being a parent meant you had to make deals I thought they had to do what you told them - how could I have been so wrong??

busybee123 · 11/06/2004 15:27

i get the 'fine i wont play with my toys then' as well....bless him!! and he also says ' fine......im going to my room then!!' and of he toddles!! the most recent one is putting his hand up in front of his face, palm facing me and saying....'this face aint listening!!'

Frenchgirl · 11/06/2004 15:27

twinkie, has your dd been teaching my dd? I get the 'deal' thing too at the moment....
I also get a lot of cajoling and 'I will be your bestest friend' and kisses (sadly for her, that doesn't always work either!)
ROFL at the other threats here!!!

Twinkie · 11/06/2004 15:28

busybee that is sooo funny!!

DD doesn;t try and be nice to me frenchgirl - to DP she says - oooohhh daddy you are sooo big and handsome - think she heard me say it after he fixed the back door as a joke and now she says it!! (Oh except believe me I did not call him Daddy!! )

busybee123 · 11/06/2004 15:30

yeah right twinkie

strangerthanfiction · 11/06/2004 16:33

So when do these threats start coming then? Dd's 20 months and it's a bit beyond her (she's still just getting into telling me what to do) (all the time) but it sounds a hoot!

JanZ · 11/06/2004 16:58

We've taught ds (3.9) to say "Please gorgeous mummy" or "please handsome daddy"!

Chandra · 11/06/2004 17:01

As soon as he starts speaking I will follow your wise example JanZ

JanZ · 11/06/2004 17:02

Dh has also taught him to pat my bottom and say "yum yum nice bum"!!
