anyone would think there was an asbo quota to fill.

a hv told a girl at baby clinic today that her 8 month old dd would be having someone come and monitor her behaviour at home cos she was concerned she had behavioural problems. all because baby bites, pinches, pulls hair, earrings etc - i thought most babies did this? then had the cheek to say is she only like this with you mum. - erm no shes like it with anyone close enough!

That's mad! Every eight month old is like that!

Good God! My eight month old needs an ASBO slapping on her in that case. She's teething so bites anything she can, be that a teething ring or my finger - whichever is closer, loves playing with people hair and grabbing at things, which I guess this HV would consider hair pulling and pinching!

Even my cat seems to understand that she's a baby and tolerates her "stroking" (for that read grabbing and pulling) without flinching - he just looks at me as if to say, 'Get her off me or I'll eat her'. Believe me, if I grabbed him the way she does he'd have my arm off - he's a stroppy boy! Surely if a cat can understand that babies are just exploring then a trained professional should be able to! Rant over!

The mum doesnt have to accept anyone coming round if she doesnt want to.

I think it is something to do with Tony Blair wanting to stop criminal behaviour while the criminals are in the womb. Something to do with the national curriculum for babies or "Every Child matters"

Pmsl at ASBO babies!!

My ds defo needs one he does nothing but pull, slap, bite, gets really frustrated so throws himself about the place bangs his head off the floor the list goes on.....

But he has just started to give me kisses so does this mean he could still be really really lovely and this is all just a stage off his development

ASBOs for HVs would be a better idea ...
