Is my baby too big?

My DS was born 4.5 kg and at 7 weeks weights just over 7kg. He is exclusively breastfed on demand. I keep hearing that one cannot overfeed a breastfed baby. But is my baby too big?

Looking at a percentile chart that looks about right.

He shows off chart and at 7 weeks is in clothes 3-6 months

Exactly the same as my baby! He's almost 4m now and wearing 6-9m clothes. When he was 7 weeks he was 16lb which I think is about the same as yours. My boy is a fat, happy , content baby. I've never worried about him being too big. My 3 year old was roughly the same when he was a baby and he's now a perfect weight. Tall for his age but healthy.

But he started in the top 2% didn't he? So it's only a small difference. Honestly you have nothing to worry about.

Both my dc were good big babies that never fit into newborn clothes and only wore 0-3 months for a couple of weeks. ds is now a 6ft tall slim 17 year old and dd is 14 slim and average height.

My dd started at 10.5 lbs and out on a pound a week for the first 6 weeks until i stopped having her weighed

Thank you. It's reassuring to know this. I think I might stop weighing him.
