Suddenly unsettled 7 week old

My usually calm and chilled out 7 week old has been so unsettled the last few days. She's been screaming for the first time ever (she usually just winges when she wants something) and even with her dummy in she has been fussy and crying with it in. She's even crying when I'm holding her.

She's been fussing with her bottles for the last few days aswell and sounds like she's straining when drinking them and going red even though she doesn't need to poo. She's not constipated.

Any ideas why?

Could she be having a growth spurt? 6 weeks was the peak of fussiness for us and it often lasts until 12-14 weeks. Does she calm down if you walk around with her in a carrier?

Sounds like reflux to me

Can reflux start at 7 weeks? She was fine up until a few days ago.
Does it need medicine or will it go away on its own?

It's worth a visit to the GP for reassurance that it's not an ear infection or whatever. Any chance she's overtired if you've been a lot busier than usual? I only ask because that's almost always why mine screams blue murder. She always wants a nap early evening but we're too busy getting dinner etc and she hates it.

What size teats are you using. My DS was fussing at the bottle and suffering with a bit of wind. I moved up to the next size teats and all has calmed down again.

She's not a very good napper during the daytime so she might be getting over tired, she sleeps when in the car and the pram when we are out but doesn't really sleep much indoors. She sleeps well at night tho.

I'm still using number 1 teats but she's abit dribbly with them so I wasn't sure weather to move up to 2s yet. She's quite windy aswell and always take a while to burp and farts quite abit so maybe she has trapped wind?
I will try the number 2s and see if that helps.

She's number 3 so I feel as tho I should know more by now but I don't! Lol

Can't hurt to try the number 2's, I would give it a couple of days though. I changed DS over at 4weeks and it took him a couple if days to get the hang of them.

Also that age is the peak time for colic to kick in and if you already have a windy baby especially so. Maybe try adding colief to bottles and half a spoonful of gripe water after.
