Teething at 11 weeks

Hi I'm quite sure my boy is teething even though I know it's considered early at 11 weeks. He's been drooling lots, sucking his fists all the time and is unsettled more. Also usually he'll feed during the night and go back to sleep but this morning he woke up at 3.30 making noises like he was in pain and was awake on and off until he properly woke up around 7. I'm breastfeeding and he was also taking the boob a lot more, for comfort I guess. Just short snacky feeds so I don't think growth spurt yet.

Does this all sound like teething? Any tips what I can do to help him? And how long does it last for, I feel like a zombie this morning!

It's possible but my little girl drooled and ate her fists for England but didn't get any teeth till 10 months!

10 months! Wow. If it was just fist chewing and drooling I would think it's all normal development but coupled with the night waking in pain I can only think it's teething. Wish I could help him!

10 months isn't unusual. Anywhere between 4m and 12m is totally normal!

Yeah, unfortunately my DD had all the symptoms you describe from three months but didn't get a tooth until 9.5 months.

Mine had those symptoms from early on too and didn't get a tooth until 14 months!

Same here. My whole nct group thought they had teeth babies from 3-7 months. My daughter was the first to actually get a tooth at 5.5 months. The things you describe sound normal unfortunately, including the waking screaming which may be the start of the 4 month regression (dd started this at 3.5minths). Sorry.

Fist chewing is just baby discovering that they have hands and exploring hands with mouth. Normal development at this age.

Drooling comes with sucking/chewing anything because the mouth isn't a sealed unit.

Changes to feeding and sleeping at around 12 weeks are absolutely and definitely normal. The change out of the newborn stage at3 months old is significant.

Baby could be teething just as easily as they could not be teething. You'll know in s couple of days if teeth cut through.

Assuming you aren't intending to medicate 'just in case', then its no big deal anyway. Just go with the flow and amend babies sleeps and feeds accordingly as they grow.

Early 4 month sleep regression it is then, lovely! I'll prepare myself for the worst!

Just to throw a spanner in the works, my dc got her first tooth through at 12 weeks.

You'll come to realise that every time a baby cries or is grizzly at any point it's due to 'teething'. And then occasionally a tooth will pop through and you don't even notice!
