10 month old hitting his head off things

My 10month old has started hitting his head off things, say he sits in front of a door he will just flip his head back a couple of times not hard or anything but then walk away he doesn't always do it, I'm thinking its maybe because with him crawling and trying to walk everywhere he bumps his head a lot and when he does I pick him up and give him a cuddle okay for a bit and carry on could it be for attention ? I'm not worried really I'm just curious where it comes from and if anybody else's lo does this ?

Mine have both done this - DD1 hit her head on stuff, DD2 does a mix of this and hitting her own head with her hand. I think it's sometimes teething related and sometimes just experimenting. Not for attention I don't think, not at this age.
