My 19 month old has just managed to fall out of his cot! Hubby went to get him up and he had his arms dangling over the cot side but he wasn't leaning over, next minute bang and he was on his back on the floor. For weeks he has had a big cushion on the floor in front of his cot just in case. Changed the boys rooms around yesterday and put the cushion out of the way thinking he doesn't need this yet.....He is the type to do it again. Any ideas? Too young for a bed.

Ds did it 3 times in a night (the first night he didn't have the side on). Also at that age. Wasn't repeated after that.
Would put the cot on its lowest setting and tuck him in well. Otherwise are you sure you can't suck it and see? What was his reaction to falling out? (Mine slept through it on each occasion, so I didn't stress about it.) What type of flooring do you have (we have carpet and since the cot was on it's lowest setting it wasn't a huge distance either) and was he hurt in any way (mine wasn't)?

The cot is at the lowest level already. He had just woken up and was dangling his arms over the side. My husband turned his back to open the curtains and then the baby was on the floor on his back. We have laminate floor down. He had a bump on his forehead, goodness knows how as he landed on his back.
