When to start the milk ladder?

My little girl is 6 months old and has been weaning since 4 months on the advice of her paediatrician. She is on omeprazole for silent reflux and as a result of that was put on neocate and told to keep dairy free. However, I'm not entirely convinced that she has a CMPA as she has never had any symptoms or issues other than her silent reflux. I feel like she's just been diagnosed with an intolerance because of the acid and for no other reason and so I'm tempted to try her on the milk ladder early rather than waiting until 12 months. Has anyone else started their little one on the ladder early? Also, could it be that dairy would aggrevate her tummy acid? Any advice is much appreciated!
