Early signs of a developmental problem?

I'm a bit new to this so I'm not sure how it all works here, but I wanted to ask for peoples thoughts.
My boy is 5 months old and has pronounced Epicanthal folds (the skin next to the bridge of the nose and eye). He is my first child and I've not had much to do with babies until now. Gets hard to tell what's typical and what's not as a new dad, so much said by so many. He seems otherwise ok, milestones reached etc (although he has some bad eczema).

Is this 'normal' or should I be encouraging my partner to have the medics take a look? No one (health visitor) has commented so far and all blood tests were ok too. Any thoughts from wise heads?

It's always worth seeing your Health Visitor and asking directly. If he's meeting all his milestones then there's probably nothing to worry about, but it would do no harm to ask. If the HB isn't sure, then the GP can have a look.

Do you have a particular thought in mind about what it might be? I spent ages obsessing over odd looking bits of skin etc, but some babies just have folds in places that others don't! Doesn't look like there's much to worry about, but it'd do no harm to ask.

He looks fine to me :)

An epicanthal fold is where the upper eyelid folds down over the corner of the eye. I can't see that at all on your son.

Why are you worried?

thanks BelfastSmile. No I don't have anything set in my mind beyond the fact I'm an older dad and you hear that the risk of issues is increased etc.

I did open the pictures, and honestly can't see it. Either you have a different meaning of epicanthal fold, or the pictures don't show it, or I politely suggest you're seeing something not there out of worry...

I have those too OP and so does one of my daughters. We're fine.
