2.3 yrs old is very bossy since ive taken the side of the cotbed off last week........

as every night i take her to bed since the side of the cotbed came off - she had always prefers me to take her to bed than her Daddy (but he does come up with me anyway). She always say "Mummy, stroke!" and points to her head which i dont mind but if i got the wrong hand she start to be unsettled till i stroke her with my correct hand. Also she say "Sit" like im a doggy!!

Me and my Dp are abit of bossy people but our DD is worse!! DD is a strong personality, out-going and confidence little girl but can be be too bossy.

how do i get her to snap out of it?

Biglips- have you stolen my dd??? Mine is also 2.3, bosses us about all day and at bedtime after her story she puts her hands up saying "stroke hands". When she's had enough of that, she rolls onto her side, pulls her jammies up and says "stroke back"!

Well, that was no help at all, but at least you know you're not the only one- I don't know how to deal with it either

My ds who is just abpout to turn 2 is the same, decides whos going to put him to bed, demands his teddies in certain places, kisses and then "light out" "shut door" and if we do it wrong blimey do we know about it!!

yeah 2.3 and she is a proper bossy madam,
her favourite saying at the mo is NO mummy do it.. oh and mine mine mine...

laney - oh yes defo "mine, mine, mine!" even if ive got a cuppa for myself its "mine!" !!!

She has also started stalling for time.....i didnt think she was able to understand stuff like this at her age!

By 6pm im knackered and ready to get her in bed!!

hes like it about everything - hes got a little brother whos 4 months and when he cries he comes running to me and shouts "jack cry milk mummy!over and over until I feed him.... but hes also very helpful as well - went tto the shops yesterday for a few bits and bobs and byt her time i'd got jack out of the pram and put it away hed unpacked all the shopping, put it in the right places and the bag in the bin! Unfortunately he also bosses me about chores as well - if the dishwasher isn't unloaded when he thinks it should be he stands by it banging the door and shouting ishwash until I do it!

I think it often happens, I am trying to teach manners but at the moment my 2.8yr dd is very very bossy.

'Stop talking!' Is one of her current favourites, 'mummy do it' another!

So glad everyone else has bossy lo's too!

My DD (just turned 2) was walking up the stairs with me last night and said "No, mummy don't run, be careful". (I wasn't running!)

Often does the lift her jammies and "love my back" routine too.

On a more helpful note, I've found that if she's too bossy, I ask her sternly to be nice and say please and she'll use a cute cajoling voice which gets me every time!

i know this isn't at all helpful but you guys have really made me smile and i needed a smile today!

my dd is 14 months, had 2 words (bye and mummy) but is already showing signs of bossy-ness!

altho she can't speak much she natters away at me, i swear she answers me back when i tell her No! gesticulates wildly and does a lot of nodding and shaking of head and pointing.

i suspect i shall be posting similar in a year's time!

im sure that my dd was always bossy possibly from birth!! i cant stop laughin on here!! hee hee!... and yes i didnt think they be bossy at this age either as she is forever telling me, her daddy and her ninny to "Sit" or she come flying to me and say "MUMMY, CAT DOWN!!!!" yep she was right as the cat was trying to climb up the canvas wardrobe. She had got brilliant manners as Please and thank you but the bossiness - hhmm no no ive gotta break it

I'd go so far as to say dd has actually started patronising me as well!

She too has lovely manners, though I don't get 'mine', everything is 'me's'! Not sure how to change this as her speech is really starting to flow and I don't want to starting correcting her all the time in case she takes a backward step

My youngest has always been bossy. She's 10yo now and her report last term said she is showing excellent leadership qualities!!
