Hello, my son who is sweet natured at home would rather stick his nose in a book than speak to other people. I used to think he was shy but it's not that - he either doesn't want to "join in" or doesn't know how to. He never gets invited to other kids' houses to play or to birthday parties, and I know this bothers him. I do invite people over for him from time to time, but he never initiates this.
Any tips on how I could help him to make friends and generally develop social skills? Thanks.
