Child refuses to eat

I am probably in the wrong topic.. I haven't worked the site out yet.. But any way my 3 year old won't eat.. It started a while ago then got better but now it's started again.. He would eat his breakfast and a ham sandwich for dinner but at tea time refuses too eat his tea.. Even tho I know he likes what he is getting, but no now he won't eat anything, he just shouts NO, then says he wants it and just plays about with it!! It's getting too the point where I physically can't feed him it's costing me a fortune in wasted food,

Iso he underweight?

Yeah he's underweight, he was eating his breakfast and dinner up until yesterday.. I have taken him to the doctors and they said just feed him what he wants, but he demands chocolate and crisps not proper food

What was he eating for breakfast and dinner? As hard as it is as it goes against every parenting expectation sometimes you do just have to feed them what they will eat. But I agree keeping a food diary and I would also get his weight regularly monitored to make sure it isn't dropping

Does he go to nursery or anything? Will he eat there?

He goes in a morning and has snack that he sometimes eats depending on what it is, yeah at least if I do a food diary I can take it back too the doctors. Thanks for the link I will look now
