Dd just brought home a booklet for the half term and it had lots of questions that seemed a little hard for her age. She managed to do most of them but I was wondering what kind of level they are supposed to be at.
Some if the questions included long division with decimal points which seemed a little hard.
Just wanted a general idea of the maths curriculum for this age is anyone has any experience. Thanks Smile

Hi, I am a Maths Tutor for Primary School aged children. Here are the National Curriculum Learning Objectives for number work in Year 2 (Sorry its long). In addition to this there are sections on Understanding Shape, Measuring, and Handing data which I have not included.

Counting and Understanding Number:

  • Read and write two digit and three digit numbers in figures and words; describe and extend number sequences and recognise odd and even numbers
  • Count up to 100 objects by grouping them and counting in tens, fives or twos; explain what each digit in a two digit number represents, including numbers where 0 is a place holder; partition two-digit numbers in different ways, including into multiples of 10 and 1
  • Order two digit numbers and position them on a number line; use the greater than (>) and less then (
