Dds' tamtrums, help needed

My dd is 15months and at times has got a bad temper (it's the red head lol). However, she has recently started lying on the floor and banging her head hard.

During her normal screaming match (if we say no, she screams etc) we ignore her, but I don't have a clue with what to do with her head banging.

If we ignore her, she walks off with bruises and carpet burn, if we pick her up she learns that is a way for our attention.

We never had this with our ds (now 2.10), so it's all new.

Thanks

Oh yea, please say some of you have gone through this!

get a soft rug or cushion / bean bag thing and when she starts headbanging pick her up and put her on it then walk away .. no interaction ....
