Grumpy 5 month old

DD is just 5 months and is usually the happiest little thing, grinning and laughing and cooing all day long. For the past few days she has been quite grumpy - she still smiles, but it's like getting blood out of a stone compared to her usual constant smiles and goooooos of excitement to see me Sad. She's eating and sleeping normally.

She may be teething as she is drooling and chewing everything, but I can't feel anything in her mouth and she doesn't have red cheeks.

Is this normal at about this stage? And will the lovely freely given smiles come back??

Thanks!!!

Oh yes does sound like teething only lasts a few days for each tooth. I know some people are against it but we used teething gel

Thank you! If I see any sign of a tooth, I will know that is what it is...
