Hi, my nearly 5 and 9 year olds son's poked each other in the eye this morning, my 5 year old was crying a lot. I didn't see it happen, but both admitted to poking each other in the eye. I spoke to them both separately and gave them some time apart in separate rooms, I also took their game time of them for 24 hours. Have I dealt with this the right way? I want them to see the seriousness of poking each other in the eyes, especially being such a delicate and sensitive body part.

Thanks in advance!

A 9 yr old ought to know better; encourage him by saying he is the 'grown up' one, and should be able to show the younger one how to behave sensibly.

Yes he should, he never normally retaliates, but they are sharing a small bedroom together in a small house until we purchase a property, which hasn't helped. I've explained about him being the older one and walking away from the situation.
