My DD (2.9) seems quite immature in comparison to other children her age. She babbles a lot in a running commentary but actual words are impossible to pick out. She also often emits a repetitive, very loud, high pitched squeak, which has drawn the attention of total strangers. Just a constant 'squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak' for maybe 10-20 seconds, then doing it again maybe 20-30 minutes later.
Her fine motor control also doesn't seem especially good. On the positive side, she makes great eye contact. Likes to laugh. Understand simple instructions (can you put the teddy on the table? Do you want to be lifted up?). Doesn't seem to have a hearing issue.
Her older brother has mild autism and I'm wondering if she's maybe copying him to some degree. Though he doesn't squeak and doesn't really talk much at all. Certainly never really babbled much.
Maybe it's all fine. I'm just wondering if she should be a bit more verbal and 'little girl-like' by now! Any feedback would be fab!
