My 17 week DS does not like to play by himself even for 5 minutes. I can't do any housework or have a minute to unwind, as it seems constant at times! My Dh says im spoiling him by picking him when he cries. He says i should just leave him, if hes been fed, slept and changed. I find it difficult to just let him cry. Am i spoiling him. Or is my DH being too harsh?

well, it depends on what you want to get out of it really. I personally don't think leaving him to cry will 'teach' him to be alone happily...he will learn that when he's ready and not a moment before! Picking him up also won't 'train' him to be spoilt, I would tend to the view that it would make him secure and happy.

But if you feel you just must do it now and again to get stuff done then I don't think you will do him long term harm! Lots of people on here seem to have used a baby 'sling' so that he gets held but you get some hands free time....

but he's only a tiny baby still, this won't last forever, as he gets older he will naturally increase his time when he can amuse himself.
