My DS is 6mo and enjoying getting stuck into family food. I'm about to make a pork casserole, in this is a stock cube and cider and it's then cooked for several hours. With rice. Is it ok for him to have a bit or does the stock make it a big no?

It should be fine as long as he's not having other high salt food today. I bought the low salt stock cubes to cook with when DD started weaning but they made everything really tasteless and she didn't like it (and neither did we!)! A couple of "normal salt" meals like this a week will be fine if the rest of his diet is lower.

Thanks moggle. He's never had anything with a stock cube yet and it'll be the only time this week- it's not like he eats a lot yet so I can't see the issue but I'm worried that I'm being too blase

I've just cooked up some shepherds pie with the Kalo low salt stock cubes and it seems ok taste wise, the stock smelt lovely on its own as well.
The cider will cook off so I don't see an issue there, it's not like you will be using it every day.
