Bow-legged 14mo

DS2 is 14mo and been walking for about 4 weeks. I've noticed a few nights ago that he seems to be increasingly bow-legged when I'd have expected the opposite to be happening.

When should their legs begin to straighten out? And when does it become a concern that they're not?

My little boy was referred to an orthopaedic surgeon when he was 16 months old (he was not walking then) to examine his bow legs. He had a hip x-ray which did not reveal any probs. The surgeon said it is only a concern if they have not straightened out by the age of 3. My LO is now 2.5 and has only been walking for four months but his legs have changed considerably.

Perhaps his legs may appear more bowed at the moment if he has his feet turned out?

I'm no expert but I guess you probably need to keep an eye on him and seek a referral if things don't improve in time.

My ds was very bow legged from when he started walking. He has beautifully straight legs now (he's 7). They just changed as he grew, were fine by 3.
