DS1's first playdate at his new school was ... eventfull ...

Last friday I wasn't feeling up to the school run (I do it on the bike), so I asked another mum to pick up DS1 for me, and DH came to get him after work.

While DS1 was visiting, he:

• pooed himself, because he was so transfixed by Nintendo (I think?) that he 'forgot' to go to the loo
• ate so quickly, and so much, that he scared them (I did warn her that he'd eat what was put in front of him!)
• decided that he wanted to stay in touch with his host, and that the best way to do that is to get married, so they're going to marry. They know that boys can marry each other, although it's a bit 'unusual'

Apparently they enjoyed having him, anyway, despite the poo.

He sounds lovely!

Well, I'm not really embarassed about the eating, or the getting engaged (he's been engaged ... hmmm ... four times? before? at least?). The pooing I'm less happy about, unsurprisingly.

There's nothing to be embarrassed about - he sounds like he had a great time, and was very enthusiastic! Even the poo thing was because he was so engrossed in playing.
And he's on his fifth engagement already, so clearly very popular!

He sounds very sweet and I'd have loved to have him round as a guest. The poo would have been no problem. Kids do that sort of thing - What a lovely ds you have !

Thanks! He is pretty good, most of the time, particularly to people he's not related too.

I want to return the favour, only a) I normally travel by bike, so transporting an extra child is tricky, to put it mildly, and b) her kids apparently only eat Chinese food, don't eat tomatoey sauces, for example.

I think I'll give her a little bag of homemade oatmeal and cranberry biscuits tomorrow, instead. I'll no doubt end up having her son over sometime anyway, at least before the wedding.

DS2 (5) went on a playdate on Saturday with a little girl in his class.

It transpired that evening that not only had DS2 done a poo while at her house (in the loo, fine) but he'd asked this little girl's mum to wipe his bottom! I was so mortified! Gawd knows what she must have thought!

My DS1 always asks me or his dad to wipe his bum (and gran and grandad, I guess) but doesn't generally ask other people, from what I know.

I'm quite sure the hostess did wipe his bottom when he had the accident, though, as he was squeaky clean. [grateful but embarassed emoticon]

I've had to wipe the bum of a playdate before now. I've also had a playdate poo on dd's bed and try to blame it on the cat.

I don't hold it aainst them, the mother of that 2nd one was mortified. And actually she didn't know about it been on the bed, I spared her that detail and just said it was knickers. They were only 5. Its young and I'm just glad it wasn't mine

Hate wiping other kids bums tbh. Have to hold my breath.

Isn't it funny that poos smell so different? My own kids' poos are kind of part of the aroma of our house, but bring in a different aroma and I cannot cope.

Are you SURE it wasn't the cat? I remember being accused of repeatedly weeing on a big beanbag at that age and was the blimmin kitten! Luckily I finally managed to catch him at it and get a witness.
