I'm moving house in 3 weeks - this is great news to a lovely new place

But am now getting anxious that DS 2 years old will not settle - am I being a dick?

He will still be in his same cot, same nap & bedtime routine etc ....

Our DS was 2.5 when we moved. We had a couple of days of challenging behaviour, but on the whole the move went well. Our new house was better in many ways than the previous one, and he seemed to appreciate the extra space, new garden etc.

Just be positive and reassuring, (possibly invest in a treat to keep him distracted? New book/pot of play doh/DVD or something?)

We're moving out of our flat tomorrow, staying in a hotel over the weekend, and into the new house on Monday. DD is 1.4, I'm very nervous. I've packed familiar stories and cuddlies for the weekend and the first night, and I'll stick with the bedtime routine, but she's a crappy sleeper anyway so I have a bad feeling...

We moved when DS was 9 months, he was very, very clingy for a few days and didn't sleep brilliantly for about 3 nights and then he was fine.

I found it useful to walk him around each morning to reacquaint himself with the house and then again each evening before bed.

Good luck with the move!

I was very nervous about moving across the country with DS at 3.11.

He was fine. He started school the following month and that went well too.

Good luck.

We moved when DD was 2.10 and will again when she's 3.6. She was fine, surprisingly so. Having more space and all her toys sorted asap worked well. Fingers crossed it does again.
