I don't have experience with this, but I do know that girls are getting their periods earlier than a generation ago. I know a few girls that got it around 9 or 10.

Hi there
My daughter started her periods at 10 the night before her 11+.I was really upset at the time as she was the only one in her class and had no one at school to talk to.Her brother has just started puberty and my friend recommended this really great interactive cd rom which I have brought.I only wish it had been around when my daughter needed it. They have a website.Take a look \link{http://www.sensecds.com/} Good luck xxxxxx

I know how you feel my son is going through a real Kevin stage at the moment.Nothing is his fault and he only answers me in grunts and groans. Hang in there it does get better. My daughter is now a beautiful kind girl.

I was 9 when mine started and I didn't have a clue what was going on - I wholeheartedly agree with anniemac that if you haven't already, it would be a good idea to make sure she knows what's going to happen and how to deal with it.

I don't remember whether I'd started getting hairy first, but I do remember that I started getting period-type pains about six months before they started.
