5 wk old development?

Just wondering at what age should a baby look at someone when they are being spoken to? My son is only 5 wks old but just wondered when this type of development should happen. He does it intermittently but more often just looks elsewhere. It's probably normal but just wondered!

Yep, sounds normal! Everything is too interesting for them at this age.

I wouldn't expect a 5 week old to focus. I found at that stage making friends with mums with similar aged babies was really helpful. It's not much more than a year ago that I had a 5 week old and I can't really remember the details.

I have a 5 week old! He sounds the same. He's obsessed with ceilings, mainly.

Yep, 5 week old here who likes to smile...while looking over my shoulder at a blank wall!

My DS liked to lie on the floor and chat to the sofa at this age. They grow out of it Grin
