Handedness preference?

Hi all, just wondering when children begin to show a hand preference? Ds is 5 months old but appears to exclusively pick things up with his left hand! I think it's maybe a little early to tell, so wondered when normally they show a preference? Thanks!

Ps left handedness wouldn't bother me as I'm also left handed!

My dd was about 5 before she decided she was right-handed, before that she would use either hand. We left her to get on with it as there are both right- and left-handers in the family.

I was convinced DD1 was left-handed as a baby (I am) but now at 4.7 she is definitely right handed and has been for about 3 years

Ok so I am much too early to tell yet then! Just seems to be every time he grabs for something it's his left hand. I'm probably over thinking it because I'm a lefty Grin

We think our 3yr old is left handed and have done for a while, but nursery have said it's too early to tell
