what's your 2 year olds routine?

How does your 2 year olds routine go?

Food Times, nap times, bed time & generally how long do they sleep over night?

Thanks! We need to tweak a few things I think as our norm seems to be a bit up the spout!

Erm my DD turns 2 next month and the only routine she has is the same lunch time and we take the dogs out a walk at the same time (after dropping my ds at nursery) other than that we go with the flow.

TeamBacon · 17/10/2015 14:15

Up at about 6:30
Breakfast area 8
Cup of milk and a biscuit after the school run
Lunch at 12 ish
Nap (sometimes) 1-3
Dinner at 5
Bath about 6:30
Night Garden, milk, books etc, into bed by 7:30.

The nap moves, but usually the rest stays the same, as we have to fit around the older ones

Not much of a routine but something like:

8.30am wake, 1.30-3.30pm nap, 9pm bed

Iguessyourestuckwithme · 17/10/2015 14:20

7 am up and breakfast
10ish snack time
12-3 a nap of between 90 minutes - 2 hours anytime during this time. Up by 3pm latest - regardless of how long the sleep.
3 snack
5/5.30 dinner time
6 upstairs - bath time
6 30 stories and bed

Schmoochypoos · 17/10/2015 14:23

My DS was 2 in August.
Wakes up 645/715
Breakfast 730
Usually out the house by 9/10 for morning activity/playgroup etc
Lunch 12.30
Nap 1-3
Snack 3
Play in the garden/playroom/go for a walk until
Dinner 5
Upstairs at 6 for bath, teeth, books and milk.
In cot around 7, he normally messes about until about 730 then falls asleep.

Memyselfandthatotherperson · 17/10/2015 14:28

2yrs 2mths ds:
630 wake
700 go to nursery
730 drop off and breakfast
1130 lunch
1230-2 nap
330 tea
500 pick up
600 snack
650 stories
700 bath and sleep
730-800 falls asleep

And we try to stick to similar on the weekends and his day off nursery.
The bed time routine has made things simpler but we must stick to it rigidly or he's a proper grump the next day.

winchester1 · 17/10/2015 14:49

Bed at 1800 normally sits in his cot talking to himself for half an hour before dropping off

Wow that 5am start with no nap!

Yh use to be annoying until dd decided 4am is the optimum time to start the day Grin
Still we get the evenings (normally) which is really nice.

Lolly86 · 18/10/2015 07:35

DD is 2 in 2weeks time
Up at between 5.30-6.15
Breakfast around 7
Snack about 10
Nap usually 1045-12
Lunch 1230
Snack 1500
Dinner 1700
Bath 1730 ish
Bedtime 1845
Milk in bed and another bottle when she wakes anytime between 2200-0300 to get in our bed

BocaDeTrucha · 18/10/2015 14:59

Ds is 2 years and 1 month.

Up at around 7.00
Breakfast 7.15
Nursery by 8.00
Lunch at 12.00
Naps 13-14.00 (just cut back to 1hr only)
Snack at about 16.00 when home from nursery
Dinner about 7.30
Bath, cuddles, pocoyo, milk and bed by 9.00

I know it's late to bed but we live in Spain and that's considered totally normal here. I'm trying to get him to go earlier and earlier but I'm up against a big culture of going to bed late!!!

BocaDeTrucha · 18/10/2015 15:01

Forgot to add he sleeps through one asleep. His only bottle of milk is about 180ml just before bed.

Minikievs · 18/10/2015 15:06

She's 2 in a week:
Up between 7 and 7.30
Breakfast between 7.30-8
Snack at 10
Lunch at 12ish
Snack at 3
Bath about 6.30
Bed around 7, asleep around 7.15

She's dropped her nap in the last few weeks, except for in the car for longer than about 20 mins. It's early to drop it but her big brother did exactly the same and they both sleep approx 12 hours at night so I can't complain (he's 5)

Minikievs · 18/10/2015 15:07

Sorry, dinner about 5. She has milk in a cup at breakfast and if she asks for it through the day

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 18/10/2015 15:08

Not sure we have a routine as such but anyway:
Wakes up somewhere between 7 and 8am
Bottle of milk
some breakfast of some kind, usually toast now - can be any time between 7:30 and 9:30 depending on whether he wants it early or not
School run at 8:45, back by 9 (usually)
Twice a week we have playgroup from 10-12
Once a week we have Little Kickers, leave the house at 9 and return at ~11
Lunch - usually around 11:30 or 12 if we've been out
On a good day (for me) will fall asleep in highchair just as he finishes his lunch, and will nap for up to 2h, although can be as little as 20 mins.
School run at 2:50, usually back by 3:20 (except on swimming day).
Dinner is anywhere between 6pm and 7pm, depending on which day it is
Then after dinner = bath, night nappy, bottle of milk, bed. He also has a late bedtime of 9pm - if he goes to sleep too much earlier, then he wakes up about an hour or so later and then stays awake until REALLY late, so I just go with the flow. DS1 was the same - 8:30 was the earliest you could get him down and know he'd stay asleep. He also used to wake between 7:30 and 8:30am.

PosterEh · 18/10/2015 15:12

Ds is 22months.
Awake at 7.30-8.30am
Breakfast at 8-8.30am
Lunch at 12.45pm
Nap 1-3pm
Bed 7pm

Sometimes he falls asleep on the way home from picking dd up from preschool so has a shorter nap then lunch after. Dd had dropped her nap at this age, woke way earlier and didn't sleep through (and still doesn't sometimes) so we are enjoying his routine a lot.

Racheyg · 18/10/2015 18:57

Ds1 is 2.3
Wake 6/6.30 - small glass of milk
Breakfast 8/8.30am weetabix and half a banana
Crèche at the gym/ playgroup/ park/ or soft play. Friday and Saturdays he attends tumble tots and little kickers
Snack 10.00/10.30 strawberries and grapes
Lunch 12/12.30 cheese spread with bread sticks and carrots or beans on toast
Sometimes naps 13.30 - 15.00 unless we are out and about
Snack 15.30 raisins
Dinner 16.30/17.00 anything that he will eat (we are struggling with this at the moment so have started to drop snacks)
Bath and teeth 18.00
Bed 19.00

The only day this is different is when he is at nursery on Wednesday.

Strawclutching · 18/10/2015 19:03

Awake 5-530 (in bed with us)
Get up 6am
615 breakfast
Snacks 9am and 1030
Lunch 12
Quiet time 1215-1315 (nap is gone unfortunately)
Tea 430-5pm
Bath 6pm
Bed 630

We've just mad bed and bath time earlier as she settles quick. I envy these toddlers sleeping past 630!!

neversleepagain · 18/10/2015 20:41

My twins have just turned 3.

Up at 7:30am, milk in my bed, get dressed.
8am, breakfast, then TV on so I can hang washing, shower and dress. Then they brush teeth.
Toddler group (everyday, sometimes twice a day. It keeps me sane!) 9:30-11:30am
Home for lunch at 12pm
Back to toddler group 1pm-2:30pm
Then library, park or play in the garden
5pm dinner
5:45pm bath them milk & stories and teeth
6:30pm bedtime!

KW89 · 18/10/2015 21:48

7ish Wake up
8am Breakfast
10am Snack
12.30 Lunch
5pm Dinner
6.15 Bath
6.50 Milk and cookie while watching 'In the Night Garden', cuddles and reading books until bedtime at 7.30.
He dropped his nap which was 1-3pm at 20 months :(
