I am mum to two boys aged 3 & 5 I have recently split with their father, my 5 year olds behaviour is getting out of control, he is an angel in school but the minute I collect him he is like a completely different child. I went to my doctors today and I have been diagnosed with depression he also prescribed me some sertraline I can feel myself having a breakdown.

How do I control my child? I have been considering taking their father back so things go back to normal.

My two sons behaviour sometimes goes downhill when their dad is working away, I think mainly because he's always on top of their behaviour. I do think boys need their fathers around, as they too play a very important part in childrens lives, just as a mother does. I wouldn't suggest getting back together for the sake of your children, you need to be happy too. I would makesure their father has unlimited access to his children, so he will still play a big part of their lives. I hope your medication works helps you a little! Flowers

He is majorly attention seeking from you as he will be sensing you are withdrawing and it will be making him anxious. Not to make you feel bad it's just factual.
Make sure you get in some one to one time with him and get his father to too. X

Ps I speak from experience as in when I'm going through trauma my child goes a bit nuts as she get anxious and it makes her super needy. V common.
