brother and sister screaming at eachother...help!

i have a little boy who is going to be 4 in march and a very little miss independant who will be 2 in january. at times they can be very protective and loving of eachother. but alot of the time they just scream and squeal at eachother and it is driving me mad, i have to raise my voice just to get them to hear me, and now i have given up and just let them get on with it. i get so many headaches as the screaming goes right through me. he is at preschool 5 days a week and she will ask where he is....i don't get it or know how i'am going to get them to stop it. she does copy him, and i must admit has always been abit of a winge (especially if he doesn't get his own way!).
just would like to know if anyone has been through the same thing....any idea's on how to stop. or if you are going through the same thing

thanks for that i will have to try it.
having worse week than usual as he is off preschool with temp and cough and i feel rough and the screaming is so frustrating as i am then screaming back just to get them to hear me!
up till the age of one (for her) she was so chilled out and not a fussy eater like him. now she is older the copying is getting alot worse!
i think i will give today a miss but will def start a fresh tomorrow!

Hi H. I have DS(3)and DD(20mnths)and so understand you. Are yours screaming in frustration, tierdness, anger or is is screaming for fun, over excited (ie are they happy or sad?). I find I spend alot of time helping them play together as if I do something with one the other wants to join in (take over) so have to try to involve both (impossible to get one to play alone while I focus on other). Sometimes they chase each other or have rough and tumble games and get v excited but I quite like that (until one gets hurt). Sometimes they take things off each other, I made the mistake of always blaming DS if I hear DD cry, but have realised she sometimes crys for attention and its not his fault so try not to intervene now unless real injury. They still seem to need a lot of entertaining at this age. J

well he screams and shouts because he is angry and frustrated. she screams back to copy and cause she wants her own way (this is when they are fighting over toys!). if she is playing happily on her own or vice versa i will get 2 minutes peace until the other noticies then again they scream. (they cannot just plau on there own!)
sometimes when they fight they will both cry, they are as bad as eachother but i have noticied recently she does nasty things to him infront of me, while he does it behind my back.
the other trouble is she still has a 2 hour (sometimes 2 and half) sleep a day, so if i take her out or let her play while she is getting tired it's alot worse!
we were in majorca back in september and had just got to a marineland place quite away away from the resort and because she was tired she had an hour long tantrum in the middle of this really busy marineland, it was awful and nothing would stop her, i tried everything and my son was really good and patient. while all the english just stared and quickly escaped, the spainish were really sweet and tried to bring her out of it. in the end they had to bring me bottled water as i was so hot from where she was red and hot. just as we were about to leave she was put back in her buggy and fell asleep.
the thing is he has always winged but never been like that. so although i have had two they are very very different!!
they are both rubbing of on eachother and i need to nip it in the bud before it gets any worse!
nice to know i am not the only one!

Maybe it's an age thing. My DS1 (3yrs)will scream and DS2 (15months) will copy and they get louder & louder. They seem to like to do it in the supermarket the most too.

I have no suggestions, just sympathy
