potty training newbie

First dc, and I think we are ready for potty training. dd is nearly two and is dry after naps, is interested in mummy using the toilet, has expressed an interest in doing it like mummy, can say wee and poo.

I have no idea what I'm doing with it though. I have a few questions and could do with some help please.

What do I need to buy? Do I need a potty, toilet seat and step, portable potty, knickers? Anything else? Or do I not need all that?

How do you start? Does it have to be in the morning? Or could I start straight after her nap as she will definitely wee then.

Do I need to stay in for her to get the idea? How often do you put them on the potty? How do you stop them getting bored with the whole thing?

do you put them back in nappies at night? Or does it have to be pull ups now? Will nappies confuse her? What about car journeys?

Sorry that's a lot of questions, I just really have no clue what I'm doing.

I'm worried that if I don't seem to know what I'm doing it will affect her confidence with it all. I need to get it all clear in my head before we start.

Any other advice would be fab, this is the one thing I have been dreading to be honest. Thanks so much.
