Mummy obsessed 17mo

Any one else had this? I'm a SAHM and my toddler is so attached to me its ridiculous. He isn't happy unless I'm sitting playing with him or just sitting with him on my lap. If I get up and try to do something, e.g cook dinner, then his is hanging on my legs crying 'Mummy up' until I pick him up and end up cooking one handed. He won't even go to his Daddy if I'm around. Once I'm out of sight be is fine, no crying or moaning and happily spends time with his Dad/Gran but as soon as I'm back its back to being a crying moaning mess unless he is physically attached to me. At night he wakes around 3 times, each time he is shouting 'Mummy, Mum, Mum, Mummy, Mum' and won't stop until I go and lay him down then he goes back to sleep. He settles himself at bedtime without me in the room. He still has a bedtime breast feed and a wake up in the morning one, I'm planning on stopping both in about a months time after our holiday. When might this phase end?! Anyone else experienced it?

Following with interest.

We're in the same boat with our 17mo- totally mummy obsessed at the moment. Everything is mummy mummy and she wants me sitting with her/next to her at all times. It's blooming hard to get anything done and we have full on tears and mini tantrums if DH does anything. Plus she wants me to carry her at all times if we're out and she's far too heavy for that- my back is so sore!

Assuming it is just another phase!

My DS3 is 19 months & is the same, but in our case it is also affecting his sleep badly. This morning he woke up at 4.30 & would not stop screaming unless held in my arms - which also woke the other DCSad

Oddly, I was out for the whole day yesterday & he was apparently fine, just saying 'Mummy' a few times in the last hour before I got back. He's also ok playing if I have to do jobs, if he can see or hear me. It's just that if I'm in the room, he or his toys have to be on my lap. If I'm in a different room & he can't see/hear me, he also screams. It's very tough Sad
