Rolling & Crawling....

My DS is 7 and a half months and is getting very fidgety when sitting down.. he just wants to get moving. If you hold him he just wants to jump and do something.
He can stay on his hands and knees but doesnt rock or try to move - although i'm sure the thought of it is going thru his head!
But he isnt rolliing over much... he can roll comfortable from his back to his front, but the other way he doesnt know to move his arm, he can but more by chance!... is this normal that he's working out how to crawl but still hasnt mastered rolling?

my dd never worked how to roll or crawl, she was a bum shuffler. She was cruising around the furniture 8 1/2 and walking at 10 months.

My DD 6 1/2 months started rolling front to back a couple of weeks ago but can't go back to front and to be honest I doubt she will. She hates being on her front with a vengance and will now start to twist to roll over as soon as she realises she is being put on her front. There's no indication that she wants to crawl and won't even bear any weight on her legs when we hold her up. She's just happy being carried

ds never rolled.
he crawled at about 10-11 months, walking at 15 months (think he was just a bit lazy really!)

Oh good, i'm glad you've said that your DC didnt roll, i was kinda thinking that once they had mastered rolling, they then move onto crawling but obviously not..... I'll wait and watch him go then!

My DD didn't roll first either. She crawled at 7 1/2 months, but didn't roll until after 8 months... so I guess the order is not set in stone!
